 One- or two-year definite term appointment in Classical Studies

The Department of Classical Studies invites applications for a one- or two-year definite term appointment (depending on qualifications) in Classical Studies, starting September 1, 2002. Teaching duties will include a variety of courses in Classical Civilization as well as language courses in ancient Greek and/or Latin.  Completion of the PhD is desirable. Junior Research Fellow (vacancy ref. 8338)

This one-year postdoctoral fellowship is based in the Bristol Institute of Hellenic and Roman Studies. You will undertake research leading ultimately to publication in any aspect of ancient Greco-Roman civilisation or in the Classical Tradition down to the present day.  Applicants with pertinent proposals are welcome from all disciplines.  You will take on up to four hours' teaching per week during one Teaching Block in the appropriate Department in the Faculty of Arts.  You must have completed your PhD within five years preceding the date of appointment.

Grade: Grade 1A
Salary: 17,626 Euros
