Mount Allison University
Margaret and Wallace McCain Fellowship

The Department of Classics at Mount Allison University invites applications for a two-year Margaret and Wallace McCain Fellowship for 2006-2008. Established on the initiative of the McCain family, the Fellowship is intended to enhance teaching at the University while adding new elements of research/creative activity.

Applications are invited from those who have recently completed their Ph.D. in any area of Classical Studies. Teaching responsibilities will consist of the equivalent of four semester courses, including participation in a team-taught introductory course (Greek and Roman Civilization or/and Classical Mythology) and teaching at other levels of the undergraduate programme. The Department is particularly interested in candidates at the beginning of their careers who could both learn from their experience at Mount Allison and contribute to the full range of Classical history and language courses taught by the Department.

The appointment will commence July 1, 2006. The Fellowship offers a competitive salary and the University provides additional research and travel funds. Relocation assistance and a complete benefits package are also provided.

Prospective candidates should submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae, and three letters of reference to: Dr. Ivan M. Cohen, Chair of the Search Committee, Department of Classics, Mount Allison University, 63D York Street, Sackville, N.B. E4L 1G9, Ph: (506) 364-2558, Fax: (506) 364-2645, E-mail: <icohen@mta.ca>

The review of applications will begin April 10, 2006 and will continue until the position is filled.
