PATRON

Article 7.e.(ii) of the Association's constitution provides that "From time to time the Council may . . . invite an esteemed Canadian from outside the Association to serve as Patron for a term of three years". The Council is now seeking to appoint a Patron for the first time, and would welcome suggestions of suitable individuals from members. We would hope to appoint a person who has a recognized position in Canadian public or cultural life and who would be willing to assist in promoting and publicizing classical studies beyond the boundaries of academia. If you have suggestions, please communicate them in confidence to the President, James Murray ( jsm@unb.ca ); please do not consult the person(s) whose name(s) you are suggesting. All deliberations and resulting negotiations will be handled confidentially by the President and Council.
