This scholarship is open to students graduating with a B.A. in the Spring and applying for admission to one or more M.A. programmes in Classics or in a related field.

NINE-MONTH APPOINTMENT AT THE RANK OF ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

The Department of Modern Languages and Classics at Saint Mary’s University invites applications for a contractually limited nine-month appointment in Classics at the rank of Assistant Professor. We are seeking candidates with a specialization in the field of Roman history and archaeology with a demonstrated record of effectiveness in university teaching who will support courses from introductory through to senior levels of the program. Applicants must hold a PhD in Classics, Classical Archaeology, Art History, or Ancient History. Alongside a full-time teaching assignment, the successful candidate will be expected to advise students, and participate actively in the intellectual life of the department. Saint Mary's is a public university with over 7,000 students, offering a variety of undergraduate and graduate degrees. Although candidates of all nationalities are encouraged to apply, priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, and all applicants should indicate clearly their status with respect to citizenship and residency.
