8-month teaching term appointment

The Department of Classics, Memorial University of Newfoundland, invites applications for an 8-month teaching term appointment. The successful applicant will be expected to teach introductory courses in the classical languages as well as more specialized courses in literature in translation and other aspects of classical civilization. Applicants must provide evidence of excellence in teaching. Sessional Appointment

Applications are invited for a nine month, full time, sessional appointment at the Lecturer/Assistant Professor level effective September 1st, 2003 in Roman history.  This appointment is subject to budgetary approval.  The successful candidate will teach an introductory class on classical mythology, intermediate level history class in Roman history, and an advanced Roman history seminar.  Applicants should have completed the Ph.D. or be close to finishing and show competence in teaching, research and publication appropriate to their experience.  The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Teaching courses in Classics on a part-time basis
for the academic year September 2003 to April 2004

The Department of Modern Languages and Classics at Saint Mary's University invites applications from qualified individuals to teach courses in Classics on a part-time basis for the academic year September 2003 to April 2004.  We require instructors to teach undergraduate courses from among Classical Mythology, the History of Ancient Egypt, History of Ancient Rome, the Ancient Epic, and Latin.  Candidates must have at least a Masters degree and preferably a Ph.D. in a relevant field as well as experience in teaching at the university level.
