The Department of Ancient Mediterranean and Near Eastern Studies, at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, is seeking applications for a tenure-track appointment in Latin Literature (with the ability to supervise topics in Latin verse) at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective July 1st, 2024.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Classics or a related field by the time of their appointment. The successful candidate will have potential for excellence in research and involvement in professional scholarly activity. They will demonstrate strong commitment to outstanding teaching with the ability to teach Latin Literature and related topics at both the undergraduate and graduate  levels, and to supervise graduate-level research in Latin verse.
